Replication of Basic Module Training was held in Blora on November 17-21 and November 23, 2008 at Gedung Serba Guna LP Ma’arif NU, Blora. The training was attended by 34 MTs teachers from 21 MTs in 10 non-target sub districts in Blora.

The training which aimed to improve teaching quality was given by DBE3 in cooperation with Blora Education Office and MoRA and LP Ma’arif NU Blora.

“This is our commitment to support the DBE3 program in Blora. We are conducting replication training on the basic modules for MTs teachers with LP Ma’arif NU,” stated H. Aunurrofiq, SE, Kasi Kurikulum Diknas (Section Head of Curriculum of the Education Office).

The participants really appreciated this training. One of them, Arif Wahyu i said that he was delighted to participate in the training, as he acquired useful knowledge and practical skills.

Meanwhile Kepala Kandepag Kabupaten Blora (Head of MoRA in district of Blora) Drs. H. Safrudin, M.Si, said that training was very appropriate for teachers and it made a significant contribution to improvement in MTs.

In the future MTs teachers should improve. Good quality teachers will improve MTs and the education system in Blora,” said H. Safrudin, M.Si.

Aceh Team Visiting Central Java

On November 24-28, 15 participants from Aceh visited Kudus, Grobogan, Demak, Boyolali, Klaten and Purworejo to learn about replication program. The participants from Aceh were divided into two teams which visited different locations.

Each team had a chance to meet and hold discussions with personnel related to the program i.e. government officials, principals, teachers and DTs. The team also discussed and learned how to budget the program and how to integrate life skills into lesson plans.

In general, the participants from Aceh felt satisfied with this visit as they got more information and knowledge about DBE3 program. However, the most important thing to emphasize in this visit -- according to Pak Irhamni, one of participants -- was the enthusiasm and motivation of teachers, government officials and staff of DBE3 in implementing this program to Bpk. Djamaluddin, anggota tim lainnya, mengatakan bahwa Aceh harus meningkatkan mutu MGMP untuk menyebarkan program DBE3 ke guru-guru.

Jaringan MGMP akan sangat bermanfaat untuk menjangkau guru-guru di banyak sekolah.

Menambahi komentar Bpk. Djamaluddin, Ibu Yusnaini, S.Pd, guru, mengatakan, “Dari pengamatan saya di 4 SLTP, saya sangat tertarik dengan MTs Muarif Sidomukti, Bener di Purworejo. MTs itu jauh dari sempurna. Tapi, dengan ketebatasan perlengkapan guru-guru masih antusias dalam menerapkan program DBE3. Sekarang saya yakin bahwa untuk menerapkan program DBE3 kita tidak harus menghabiskan uang banyak dan kita bisa menggunakan barang bekas dari lingkungan kita.”
