Following the mid term evaluation which started in December 2007, the USAID team held a series of road show to the provinces where DBE 123 are implemented.
The road show which involved officials from GOI (MoNE, MoRA and the Coordinating Ministry of People Welfare – Kantor Menko Kesra), staffs of USAID and DBE 123, was intended to address the mid-term evaluation of the DBE program, to support the new direction of the USAID DBE program after the evaluation, and to seek support from the local government for the revised direction of the DBE program.
The main programs in this event were presentations from USAID-DBE teams and field visits to schools where DBE programs are implemented.

(Jawa Tengah), Surabaya-Sidoarjo (Jawa Timur), and Makassar-Pangkep (Sulawesi Selatan).
The events took place in Medan-Binjai (North Sumatra), Bandung-Karawang (West Java-Banten), Semarang-Solo (Central-Java), Surabaya-Sidoarjo (East Java), and Makassar-Pangkep (South-Sulawesi).
There are some points to stress in these meetings. As for all provincial governments, they expressed their appreciation for what DBE had done in their areas.
Consequently, they stated their willingness to continue to work with USAID-DBE. Another thing to emphasize was the statement of USAID by Arturo Acosta, who said that DBE project would go on despite the economic global crisis.

Field Visits to DBE3 Schools
During the visits, the officials from Jakarta had opportunities to stop by at some DBE3 partner schools to see the implementation of learning process there. The officials visited SMPN 2 Sedati, Surabaya; MTsN Karanganyar; SMPN 8 and MIN Binjai; and MTsN Ma’rang, Pangkep.
Answering questions regarding the benefits of the DBE program in their schools, all school officials said that some positive changes happened after they got involved in the program.
The changes included better school management and better classroom activities and management. Furthermore, they hoped that DBE3 team would continue to support them in improving the learning process.
