Towards Sustainable Change
TO achieve better learning in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia a collective effort from all stakeholders is needed; it is not merely an individual effort. It is important to involve all stakeholders so that they are committed to sustain the positive changes that have been achieved so far. Increasing interest from districts in disseminating the DBE3 program independently has been observed. This shows that improving the quality of education and, in particular, educators’ competencies have become a priority.
Approaching the end of the DBE program, district governments have prepared strategies to support the sustainability of the change that have resulted from DBE3 support. Two examples from East Java are Tuban and Pasuruan districts, which have allocated budgets to disseminate DBE3 programs to non-partner schools. The two districts have trained additional district facilitators in each school cluster, with the aim of promoting positive changes in non-partner schools .

Training additional facilitators in each cluster is one way to sustain positive changes in schools.

Similar effort are taking place in other DBE partner districts. All these are done to ensure the sustainability of the positive changes after the DBE program has ended.
