THE national trainers were trained using the same approaches and materials which will be used for the training of district facilitators and whole school training. This meant that the trainers had to do exactly the same activities as they would be giving the facilitators and schools. This is very important, as trainers must practice for themselves what they expect the their participants in the training to do.
What was included in the training? The main topics in the training were:
Effective teaching techniques for developing life skills.
Creating a classroom environment to support student learning?
Preparation for Teaching and Teaching Practice
The roles of the school principal and supervisor in improving the quality of teaching and learning
Developing action plans for each school.
Participants in the training practicing mentoring each other
