DBE3 Having a Clear Impact in Garut!
During the visit to Garut on February 10, 2010 of the DBE3 Program Director Stuart Weston the results of the program were clearly visible in the schools he visited.
At SMPN 5 Garut grade 8 students were using microscopes to observe living organisms helped by their teacher, ibu Lydia.
Budi, a grade 9 student showing his work on magnets. He did an experiment and presented his findings to his classmates.
The good impact of the program is a sign of the leadership of the Head of the District Education Office, H. Komar M.,M.Pd. (right) and the School Principal. Bpk. H.Yana Darmana, M.Pd. (left). They are seen here standing in a room at SMPN 5 which is used for displays of students’ works. Some of their work has been made into books and arranged on the tables.
At MTs Al Rohman displays of students’ work can be found in every classroom.
Assisted by their teacher, ibu Nunung, grade 8 students at MTs Al Rohman working on a practical task to compare the area of segments of a circle.
SMPN2 Cikajang is located in the mountains a long way from the town of Garut. But the school has made good progress, as can be seen by the student-centered learning in every class.
